    buffet is lovley, not loads to choose from but enough and what is there is nice.. they serve hot started to your table which is nice. cater for children too and there is soft play for children to play as well which is good

    Great looking place but that is where the positives end. We decided to try this Ashoka out as it’s close to us and it looked like a nice place. We did not do the buffet as we wanted to try their a la carte dishes. First of all we ordered some popadoms and dips. The popadoms were stale, rubbery, bendy and horrible. The 'mango chutney' dip was straight out of a jar and looked like baby food and didn't taste much better. I did not eat this needless to say and gave it back to the waiter. The wine we ordered was "out of stock" apparently so we had their house wine which was horrific and warm. I asked the waiter to find me a cold bottle so he went away and came back 5 mins later with the same 'opened' bottle of wine swearing blind that it was not the same bottle but couldn't answer me as to why it was already opened. He then proceeded to put the wine in a stella Artois 4 x pint carrying try full of ice, very bizarre! The other starter ordered was pan fried fish except the dish that came was covered in batter and deep fried. The curries we got were dry, bland, packet and jar tasting junk food. The Malaysian hotpot was congealed muck. I'm Scottish and i could make a better curry than these cowboys. Not once were we asked if our meals were ok and we very much got the impression that the staff and management couldn't care less. When the bill came we were being charged for the starter that i sent back and they also didn't take off the bill the cheaper of the 2 mains as per the offer that they were made aware of. WOULD NEVER EVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!

    Waste of money....had better from sainsburys really bland curry soggy popadoms near zero sweet selection ignorant staff im nott really one for moaning but felt i had too rushed out the door because we didnt want alcohol ...dont waste your money better going up the road to mount shimla barhead great food there
